Orcas Island has excellent K-12 public schools all located in Eastsound. In addition, there are other private schools that may meet your individual interests.

The Orcas Island School District has 464 students in grades K-12 and offers an academic curriculum that is aligned with the Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements.

The Class of 2000 had 73% of its members advance to college or university. Advanced placement and advanced technology applications courses are offered at the high school level. The district is governed by a five-member board of directors and operated by a superintendent and two principals and their staffs, including 41 certificated teachers.
