Orcas Island affords a choice of medical doctors and an on-island medical facility (Orcas Family Health Center) and proximity to mainland medical specialists in Anacortes, Mt Vernon or Bellingham. Many people schedule their off-island medical appointments in conjunction with other mainland shopping tasks. Prescriptions can be filled locally at Ray’s Pharmacy, if needed.

No need to travel off island for a dentist or chiropractor either as we have a choice of excellent practices in Eastsound Village.

For emergencies, Orcas Island Fire and Rescue awaits anytime day or night. And in the event that emergency transportation is needed to an off-island hospital, helicopter transport is coordinated with Airlift Northwest, (www.airliftnw.org). Currently, Airlift Northwest has a very affordable AirCare insurance plan.
